Turbo-Pups are a unique combination of a Pup Joint and a Flow Coupling. A one piece Turbo-Pup can replace a pup joint and a flow coupling, eliminating unnecessary threaded connections and potential leak paths in downhole assemblies.
Turbo-Pups are used in tubing strings and are designed to minimize the effect of internal erosive action caused by production fluids and gases. Turbo-Pups are located just above or below Landing Nipples, Safety Valves or other Control Devices where turbulent flow problems are likely to occur.
Stewart Tubular Products will manufacture Turbo-Pups to any length – inch or metric. Typical lengths are 8’ or 10’. Either API or Premium integral box-by-pin threaded connections may be provided. Turbo-Pups manufactured by Stewart Tubular Products are available in all API and proprietary grades of steel including stainless steel and CRA.
