Stewart Tubular Products introduces our newest product line - Stabbing Guide. We have designed the guides to balance strength, durability, weight, and cost to optimal levels.
- Robust hinge and trigger release areas provide greater impact resistance
- Outer shell and urethane size ranges are carefully established so that units of all sizes are lightweight and easy to work with
- Outer shell material and wall thickness vary depending on size range to provide the best possible strength to weight ratio
- Adjustable latch mechanism allows for in the field adjustment to customize the fit on each job. In some cases the adjustment is enough that a unit made for one size & thread can be made to work for other threads as well
Superior Materials
We combine the toughest metals and material to make units that stand up to the harsh drilling environment. By using urethane inserts rather than the standard polypropylene, inserts withstand repeated cleaning with solvents and tend not to swell over time, avoiding re-machining of the shell.
On all unit sizes:
- Urethane inserts
- Stainless steel hinge pin sleeved with nylon inserts to prevent bi-metallic corrosion
- Cadmium plated set screws
- Stainless steel trigger mechanism
On 3½ and smaller sizes:
- Outer shell is 6061 aluminum
- Screw-on handles hold urethane inserts to outer shell
On 4½ and larger sizes:
- Outer shell is 41 series high strength steel which has been zinc phosphate coated and painted
- Solid handles welded to outer shell
Flexible Sizing
Each outer shell will accommodate multiple size ranges. The unit is versatile in that the urethane inserts are interchangeable within that size range. Urethane inserts can be purchased separately at a greatly reduced price relative to a complete unit.
Field Repairable
Part of the beauty of our design is the simplicity of it. It is simple to take apart and put back together. Most emergency repairs can be made from parts available at your local hardware store. Alternatively, we can provide inexpensive repair kits to facilitate field repairs rather than having to send your unit in to us for repairs. We carry a large inventory of semi-finished units on the shelf. These units can be converted to finished stabbing guides in 2 - 3 days.
